DUBBING WORKSHOP

The Magic World Behind the Voice

With actor and director Akindynos Gkikas

Workshop for teenagers aged 12-16 (in Greek)

Sunday, March 22

Start: 12:00 Ι Workshop duration: 90'

EVENT LOCATION: Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation, Library

Psaroloco invites teenagers to discover one of the most fascinating and invisible sides of the film industry. Under the guidance of Akindynos Gkikas and his years of experience, participants are introduced to the art of dubbing—where acting meets the ultimate synchronization of image and sound.

In this workshop, teenagers aged 12-16 participate in an experiential process of "lending" their voices to cinematic heroes. Participants experiment with tone, rhythm, and the emotional resonance of speech, understanding in practice how the human voice can transform a character and add depth to a narrative. This activity enhances the audiovisual perception and self-confidence of young people, providing them with the tools to interpret and "bring to life" an image through their own personal code of expression. Through adaptation and casting techniques, children learn to recognize the importance of detail in creating a complete work of art, while cultivating their critical thinking regarding the use of language in modern media.
