Workshop description

Objective:

To introduce children to the stop motion animation technique through their participation in a creative animation game.

Action Description:

Artists, animators and teachers will reveal to children the basic function of stop motion animation as a technique for creating animated video.

Children will work in groups combining visuals with animation.

Using photography, a smartphone and computer they will give motion to visual constructions and images made by themselves.

They will work together to prepare and produce two stop motion animation scenes, discovering the fascination of collaborative creation in a field that combines traditional materials and new media mixing reality and imagination. The continuation on screen.

Yanis Alexakis / Visual Artist - Animator 

He is a visual artist, a graduate of the Athens School of Fine Arts. He has taught in private and public primary and post-secondary education as well as in children's and adult classes in the art workshops of the municipalities of Elefsina, Mandra, Ilion and Keratsini. He was a member of the editorial board of the literary magazine "Mandragoras". He has taken part in visual arts activities and exhibitions. He participated as a painting animator in the production of the animation film "Loving Vincent". He delivers art lessons and stop motion animation courses to children and teenagers at animaphile.gr.

Andriani Ventouri / Visual Artist - Teacher

She studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts. Since 1998 she has been teaching art to children and adults in municipal art workshops and has participated in many art education programs. She attended the training program "Digital Art, Print and Moving Image" at the University of the Aegean (Syros,2014). She has participated in group exhibitions. She lives in Korydallos and works as an art teacher in primary education.
